Experience
After years of practice as a licensed massage therapist, I expanded my capabilities with a Masters degree in Acupuncture from New England School of Acupuncture/Mass College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. I find combining the 2 therapies in one treatment to be uniquely effective in reducing pain, relieving anxiety and stress, and boosting the overall health and immunity of the body. My passion is working with my patients to bring about positive changes in their health and well-being. My joy is watching that happen.
My Chinese acupuncture practice includes related work in cupping and moxa treatments. My massage certification is in the Swedish modality with coursework over the years in Sports massage, Shiatsu, Pediatrics, Tuina, and Chair massage. I work with many populations including children, elderly and handicapped.
"The blood. qi , essences and spirits of man offer life and fulfill perfectly the natural destiny of each. "

ACUPUNCTURE
As a practitioner of acupuncture, I strive to re-balance your Qi, the vital energy in your body which, in the process of living, can become unbalanced, deficient or stagnant and can cause pain or ill health. When Qi and blood are flowing smoothly, good health prevails. After a thorough intake where I assess all aspects of your health (physical and emotional), I make a diagnosis, then use hair-thin needles on points throughout the body to balance your Qi. Most patients find it relatively painless and experience profound relaxation during the treatment.
MASSAGE THERAPY
Massage therapy is manipulation of the soft tissue and joints of the body to reduce scar tissue, increase blood flow and oxygen, repair damaged tissue and release endorphins, which promote relaxation, stress reduction, and a sense of well-being. My appointments are 60, 75 or 90 minutes.
ADJUNCT THERAPIES
ONSITE VISITS
Cupping: This recently popularized therapy has been used for thousands of years by numerous cultures. Cupping uses suction with glass cups to pull stagnation/congestion in soft tissue layers to the surface, softening the tissue and increasing blood flow to expel tightness and pain.
Guasha: Part of traditional Chinese medicine, we use a porcelin tool to gently scrape the skin in chosen areas to rid your body of the beginnings of a cold or virus or to loosen constricted musculature.
Moxibustion: Moxa is an herb that is burned and placed near the skin to warm the meridians, expel pathogenic influences, and move Qi (life force) and blood.
